Pasadena Avenue Drainage Study

The City of Phoenix hired Hoskin Ryan to evaluate the flooding condition in the area of 3602 E. Pasadena Avenue. Field survey and observation indicate that the ponding water at various spots along 36th Street results from flat or adverse slopes at pavement edges and curb returns. In addition, five residences along 36th Street were found to have high flood risks due to their low finished floor elevations. Three alternatives to solve the flooding issue were proposed and compared, with one being recommended. The recommended alternative not only solves the ponding water problem, but also provides a higher level of flood protection to local residences.
