Skunk Creek Through Tramonto
Hoskin Ryan worked with Communities Southwest to solve the existing drainage, floodplain and 404 permit issues that affect this 1,100-acre development near Carefree Highway and I-17. Skunk Creek bisect the site and imposes a significant floodplain and floodway impact. Hoskin Ryan worked with the developer, City of Phoenix, Flood Control District of Maricopa County and FEMA to identify the floodplain issues, provide bank protection and remove 98-acres of developable land from the 100-year floodplain. Revisions to the floodplain within Tramonto necessitates a letter of map revision for a 3-mile read of Skunk Creek from the CAP canal north to the Carefree Highway bridge.
Project Requirements / Unique Characteristics:
- Removed 93 Acres of Tramonto From Floodplain
- LOMR Accepted by FEMA for 5 Mile Reach Downstream
- Multi-Agency Review & Approval
