Huitt-Zollars is excited to welcome back Robert (Bob) Powell, PE, as a Vice President in our Houston West office. In this role, Bob will lead business initiatives and client relations for the water resources department in Houston and throughout Southeast Texas, primarily serving the public works sector.
Bob has over 38 years of experience in engineering, preparation of construction documents, project management, engineering management and supervision, and construction management inspection, twenty-five of which were spent with Huitt-Zollars. He has served as project manager for the maintenance of federally assisted channels for the Harris County Flood Control District, where he managed inspection and condition assessment of the assets in the program as well as provided reports, analysis, and maintenance recommendations for over 2,500 miles of earthen and concrete channels. Bob also managed projects for the Houston Parks Board, City of Houston, City of Sugar Land, Fort Bend County, and Montgomery County.
Bob earned his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Texas A&M University and his Master of Engineering from Prairie View A&M University. He is a licensed engineer in the State of Texas. Bob is also professionally affiliated with the Society of American Military Engineers in the Houston-Galveston Post, the Houston Contractor’s Association, and Houston Realty Business Coalition.
