Huitt-Zollars performed a comprehensive facilities condition assessment on all facilities for the City of Sugar Land, Texas. The purpose of the assessment was to establish future maintenance budgets and to reduce the City’s deferred maintenance backlog. The project work involved an architectural and engineering assessment for approximately 430,000 square feet of 57 separate City-owned facilities. Each facility was visited by a team of architects and engineers who identified existing visual deficiencies in interior and exterior structure and finishes, HVAC equipment, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and fire/life safety items. A repair strategy and corresponding construction cost was developed for each deficiency.
